I don’t really care at all about the over-arching plot. I don’t think the author does either. Honestly the MC doesn’t even feel like a real human bean if you consider how many years he’s been doing heroine netori quests. Author keeps occasionally trying to paint a picture of him feeling really remorseful about his actions, but, yeah? Like I said, the MC doesn’t feel like a person. He’s like a machine that’s perfect at acting the role, any role, for years without any aftereffects.
The individual stories, mostly self-contained, however, keep me coming back to this mess. They can be really fun reads, and can be varied enough besides the eventual netori aspect. Author likes to just randomly end an arc at times however. You’ll be reading a chapter, click the next wondering how the arc will end and it’ll just be the MC back in the real world pondering what to eat with no real conclusion besides maybe a brief sentence or two and the assumption that the quest was over. Still, as a short story anthology with reoccurring netori themes, pretty fun.
Thanks
