There shouldn’t be an redemption arc in the main story, maybe a spin-off story. Eri and Miyuki burned too many bridges in this town, especially Miyuki. Miyuki destroyed all her relations with the good people in her life, and she is the “cause of effect” in the destruction of all the bad and stupid people at her school. Along with being a infamous internet sensation for all the wrong reasons. If she is to redeem herself, she has to come to understand what she did wrong and excise that part of her personality. She can’t do that in her town and school. She needs to leave and start a new life somewhere else, there will be no self-healing where she is now.
The problem for Eri and Miyuki, is that the people around them, that got burned, don’t have ‘our’ insight as readers of their stories. Only the girls who Kondo preyed upon personally know how insidious Kondo was. And it is not something Eri and Miyuki can bring up, without it being seen as making excuses for their actions.
And I do believe that Eri and Miyuki are both victims of Kondo, but also perpetrators of Kondo’s and their own villainy. At the end of the day, you are responsible for your own actions, no matter the cause or outside actors.
Kondo was insidious, like a master hunter, he lured his prey in with tons of affection, (more than normal people) to get close to them, and then when it came time to seal the deal (get intimate physically) he would use ‘guilt’ to reel them in. NTR is a subset of Cheating stores, at its heart, NTR is about destroying good people. Kondo got a thrill or high from destroying good couples. Both the girl he reeled in and the boy they loved. Kondo didn’t want women who would cheat normally, but those that wouldn’t normally cheat.
Eri and Miyuki both need mental health clinical care, but I don’t think they are going to seek it out themselves. Kondo damaged them both totally. And since the girls destroyed all of their relationships around them, they have no one to force them to go. The events in the story happened so fast, but the healing and softening of their previous relations is going to take months or maybe years.
I don’t know if the story is closing up, or if the author has a new direction or additional story arcs for the main cast. But a true redemption arc is not going to happen in a few weeks, it will take a long time for self-healing, self-searching for a new path, and actual atonement with real regret and remorse. But the girls have to wait for their victims to get into that place for themselves for them to even think of giving the girls that time for it.
But if many of you want a quick redemption, that is usually done by the girl sacrificing themselves to save their former true love. Personally, I don’t want Eri or Miyuki to die, and not because I want them to suffer forever for their crimes (though they do need to face and feel the consequences of their actions), but because they were victims of Kondo. But only us as readers, truly know how insidious Kondo was.
But this is also for me unstable ground to stand on, quite the balancing act. The girls did what they did, they are responsible for their own actions, and have to face the consequences, but it is hard not to feel a bit of sympathy, since the girls didn’t have the life experiences and maturity to deal with someone like Kondo. Can’t say much about Eri, since they didn’t go into detail, but Miyuki did decide to cheat, to have a fling before getting (in her own mind, and not reality) back with her ‘true love’. That decision gave Kondo power over her, and he was able to guilt her into a more physical relationship.
To the Author, thanks for the story, especially for writing a more realistic view of NTR. All too often the doujinshi’s operate in a vacuum, pretending no one else exists in the story, and there is no true end to the story. If you keep on with this story, I’ll keep on reading it. Thanks.
At this point, it seems like the whole class was expelled along with the soccer and the other club. The mother basically just shut the entire class down from ever redeeming themselves, they’d have to go through adult remedial schools just to get any diploma *if they exist in japan*. And for Eri and Miyuki, they need to come together and find the “closure” they feel they don’t deserve in “each other”. Both seem too traumatized to move on about letting go from their guilt of hurting the mc and otaku, to go back to the f*boi(a timeskip/zone to the future) only to be subjected to the same mess would just be a sour but obvious move, if author wanted a “pure ending”, all the characters have to have redemption or ruin. This is just something to think about for the few Miyuki sympathizers(lmfao). F*boi never redeemed himself, crying like a b* like his dad, kept looking to women to prey on and never listened to a single thing til it really mattered.
PLEASEE MIYUKI REDEMPTION ARC PLEASEEE
Probably unlikely, mama Miyuki pretty much disowned her without announcing, leaving her alone at home and all that, it’s been long enough for a hospital discharge i think, but so far…., hopefully, but, at the same time, prospects aren’t in her favor.
