Yep. Most people here forger that all of them were just 16 to 17 years old. Teenager hormones doesn’t make it any better, but they all still have their lives ahead of then. She hasn’t even become an adult yet. Losing your entire life ahead for a single mistake she did as a teenager shouldn’t just destroy all of her future years. She hasn’t killed herself because it would actually fuck up Eiji. The author probably does not feel like that and is only waiting for the right moment. Doesn’t help that Miyuki even while commiting many mistakes was also a victim from kondo along with many other young girls.

She didn’t started the accusations she only found out about it after kondo and tanichaba started it she only kept silent and each time she wanted to speak up they manipulated and threatened her. I think that in the comments, people still don’t realize the seriousness of what Miyuki did. Karma is simply taking its course. In my case, I want Eri to have a moment of redemption. Unlike Miyuki, Eri knows she did wrong and took all the blame, and since she didn’t participate in the bullying of Aono, she’s the one in the best position
Its not that I think that Miyuki is innocent in all this far from it, rather that considering several people saw her publicly attempt suicide, aside from occassional house visits from some teachers, voluntary ones I might add, not much has been done regarding her mental state. And yes this could be considered karma but as were shown spending soo much time by herself being trapped in self loathing isnt doing her or the people she hurt any favors. If anything this may just make her want to attempt suicide again or something else drastic, which may just happen if this recent chapter is anything to go by.
Same could be said for Eri, and considering we havent heard from in awhile who knows what her mental state is like right now especially since she seemed more dissapointed she wasnt able to die.

I love how in early chapters we were angry at Miyuki and then in middle chapters, we felt satisfaction. Now we just want Miyuki to have a redemption arc and turn into a fresh new leaf.
She has no realistic way to have redemption. What she hopefully will get is absolution. Eiji will never be able to have her in his life again, but maybe he can forgive her, so she can forgive herself. I truly wish that this novel ends in Eiji’s and Ai’s happiness and for Miyuki indeed a start, after having repented for her mistakes.

Man the word count for the chapters are truly doing a disservice, even tho i was simply air reading the novel to see miyuki suffer, but its so mid.
It’s strange how she keeps saying things like, “I made the wrong/worst choice that day.” As if she wasn’t cheating on him for months before that.
But I do agree with most of you. While she shouldn’t be free from consequences, she should also be allowed to earn redemption and move on, hopefully wiser and stronger.
I also think it’s a bit cold that Eijis family isn’t concerned about her mom. Miyuki messed up, but the mom had nothing but warm feelings for Eiji, the least they could do is visit her in the hospital.
I really want the author to update us about miyuki’s mother in a future chapter. she is a victim too and doesn’t deserve to bare the consequences of her daughter’s bad choices.

I hope this will change soon (and it seem so) but at this point Miyuki suffering contribute nothing to the story. It’s there because the reader seem to like it (or that what the author believe). By definition that’s just cheap fanservice at best and lazy writing at worst.
